Description of the Bike Benefit
As an employee, you can choose your preferred bike, and your employer will acquire it through a leasing agreement with GoByBike. The company bike is intended for your personal use, whether it's for commuting between home and work or for leisure activities. The bike benefit applies to both regular bicycles and electric-assist bicycles (with a speed limitation of 25 km/h and maximum rated power of 250 W).
The bike benefit is a tax-exempt fringe benefit of up to 1,200 euros per year per employee. The most common practice is for the taxable value of the bike benefit to be deducted from your gross salary, making it cost-effective for your employer to provide this benefit.
The acquisition of the company bike is the responsibility of your employer, and the easiest way to do this is through leasing services.
The company bike is intended for your personal use, both for leisure activities and commuting purposes.
The benefit applies to both regular and electric-assist bicycles.
At the end of the rental period, you have the right to purchase the bike at a discounted price. The capital value of the company bike is mostly amortized during the rental period, so it is practically always beneficial for you to acquire the bike.
